STP-H3

STP-H3 [NASA]

The STP-H3 (Space Test Program - Houston 3) is a combo of experiments to be hosted on the International Space Station (ISS).

Following experiments are mounted on STP-H3:

  • MHTEX (AFRL) performed a flight qualification of advanced Capillary Pumped Loop without starting pump. It demonstrated long duration steady state operation.
  • Canary (USAFA) Validated theory of plasma signatures in space environment. It observed 70+ events including Space Shuttle, Soyuz, Progress, ATV, HTV and Dragon vehicle dockings and undockings.
  • VADER (AFRL) tested 10 Variable Emissivity Devices. One observed to be damaged on orbit, others showed mixed performance.
  • DISC (NRL) has proven the concept of miniature star tracker. It collected over 100 Star Tracker images.

The STP-H3 package was launched on Endeavour F25 (STS 134). STP-H3 was installed on ELC-3. It was disposed of with HTV 4.
