Vindlér 1, 2, 3, 4

Vindlér 1 [SNC]

Vindlér 1 to 4 are 6U CubeSats built and operated by Spire Global for Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), to detect and geo-locate specific objects from low-Earth orbit (LEO) based on targeted radio frequency (RF) emissions ranging from VHF to L-band.

Vindlér is a commercial data source that can be used to locate emitters of interest throughout the world. It can be used to track dark vessels, GPS jammers and more in support of national security efforts. Each satellite downlinks up to 4 GByte of data per day and geolocates emitters to within one kilometer.

SNC is partnered with Spire Global to expand space services to design and deploy six-unit (6U) cubesats addressing a growing market need for radio frequency (RF) collection and analysis. Spire Global and SNC launched satellites that detect and geo-locate certain objects based on targeted RF emissions. The program will provide valuable insight into how the military can manage RF emissions and safeguard against RF and GPS interference in an e cient, low-risk and cost-eective manner.

Over the next several years, the constellation will grow to more than 20 satellites, all of which will collect additional radio frequency bands and offer intraday revisits.
