NinjaSat [RIKEN]
NinjaSat is a 6U Cubesat observatory developed by RIKEN, Mitsui Bussan Aerospace, and Kongsberg NanoAvionics for long-term monitoring of bright X-ray sources, such as binary systems between normal stars and black holes or neutron stars.
Its purpose is to demonstrate that even a small satellite can conduct outstanding scientific observations; unlike large spacecraft, small satellites can be created rapidly and affordably. NinjaSat uses gas X-ray detectors to fill the entire space allotted for science payloads, achieving the best X-ray sensitivity in the world for CubeSat missions.
