The ST 2 (Shen Tong 2) series satellites are reportedly chinese military comsats and are follow-ups to the ST 1 series. They reportedly provide the Ku-band communication and to feature advanced multiple steerable spot beam antenna technology to enable ground users to communicate while on the move as well as secured uplink transmission for satellite antenna control.
ST 2A, also known as ZX 2A (ChinaSat 2A) was successfully launched on 26 May 2012.
The second satellite, ST 2C, also known as ZX 2C (ChinaSat 2C) followed on 3 November 2015.
A third satellite, ST 2D, also known as ZX 2D (ChinaSat 2D) was launched in January 2019.
