Yaogan 39-01C is a Chinese military satellite of unknown purpose. Two different satellites, Yaogan 39-01A and Yaogan 39-01B, were also launched together with it.
The satellites of this triplet launch were of different designs: Yaogan 39-01A and Yaogan 39-01B were built by DFH Satellite (Beijing) and Yaogan 39-01C was built by SAST (Shanghai). The purpose of these satellites is not yet known. It has be speculated that Yaogan 39-01A and Yaogan 39-01B might be imaging satellites and Yaogan 35C might be a radar satellite. SIGINT / ELINT or communications missions have also been speculated.
It is unknown, if and how the Yaogan 39 triplets differ from the Yaogan 35 and Yaogan 36 triplets.
