PROBA V-CC [ESA]
PROBA-V-CC or PVCC (Project for On-Board Autonomy - Vegetation - Companion CubeSat) is a mission that will fly a scaled-down version of the vegetation-monitoring instrument aboard the Earth-observing PROBA-V to conduct combined experimental observations with its predecessor.
Aerospacelab is the prime contractor for the mission with OIP being a subcontractor, responsible for providing the Proba-V spare spectral imager. The satellite is built on a 12U CubeSat
As part of this effort, PROBA-V-CC will house a single telescope version of the Vegetation imager, which was left over from the Proba-V development. The two missions will conduct joint observations to evaluate how well the instrument performs on a smaller, less expensive platform.
Aerospacelab will also gain operational experience that will be applied to its planned constellation of small geospatial satellites.
