RANDEV [KAIST]
RANDEV (Repeater Arrangement & Disaster Early View)) is a South Korean 3U-CubeSat designed by Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). RANDEV conducts an earth observation mission to collect potential hazard image data from volcanoes, coasts, and clouds.
Payloads are hyper-spectral camera, S-band receiver, and X-band transmitter. The antennas are used to conduct store & forward and satellite internet missions.
The concept of operations (CONOPS) of RANDEV is organized using top-down approach, and the top of the CONOPS is defined to ‘Operation’ which is comprised of ‘Modes’. A Mode consist of ‘Behaviors’, and they are composed of ‘Actions’. The Actions are the bottom of the RANDEV missions, and defined by SysML Activity Diagram in language. The Actions are function names of RANDEV subsystem softwares. The time consumption of software functions is estimated using the activity diagram, and in order to practice three missions, a time scheduling methodology is proposed using greedy-knapsack algorithm in this research.
