CHIME [TAS]
CHIME (Copernicus Hyperspectral Imaging Mission for the Environment) or Sentinel 10 is an earth observation mission in the framework of ESA's Copernicus program.
The CHIME mission will carry a unique visible to shortwave infrared spectrometer to provide routine hyperspectral observations to support new and enhanced services for sustainable agricultural and biodiversity management, as well as soil property characterisation. The mission would complement Copernicus Sentinel-2 for applications such as land-cover mapping.
In July 2020, ESA signed a contract with Thales Alenia Space as a prime contractor to build the satellite. OHB Space Systems will provide instruments.
