FORMOSAT 9 [TASA]
FORMOSAT 9 is a planned earth observation satellite constellation consisting three X-band SAR remote sensing satellites with a resolution of 1 meter, which is under development by Taiwan' TASA.
The goal of this initiative is to create a constellation of two X-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with multifunction capabilities, resolution better than 1 meter, and a swath more than 50 kilometers. There are three basic operating modes: strip-map, spotlight, and ScanSAR. The satellite will operate in dawn-dusk sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 514 km for a 5-year mission.
