Shuang Quxian-1 (Hyperbola-1) is a small solid fueled orbital rocket designed by the Chinese company Beijing Interstellar Glory Space Technology Ltd. under the brand name iSpace
The first rocket has a maximum diameter of 1.4 m, a length of 20.8 m. Its liftoff mass is 31 t. Hyperbola can carry a payload of 260 kg to a sun-synchronous orbit at a height of 500 km. Possibly it is based on rocket motors inherited from the DF-21 missile.
For the second launch, the diameter of the upper stages has been increased to 1.4 m. The length was increased to 22 m and the lift-off mass is now 42 t. The payload capability has been increased to 300 kg to a sun-synchronous orbit.
The successful maiden flight took place on 25 July 2019. The first three flights of the improved version in 2021 and 2022 all failed to reach orbit.
