The Russian Luch-5M are relay satellites improved versions of the Luch 5A and Luch 5A and 5V satellites. The satellites are based on the Ekspress-1000N bus.
S- and Ku-band data relay channels of each satellite will be linked with receive/transmit points via satellite communications links.
The first satellite were originally planned for a launch in 2022 and the second for 2025 but both have been delayed.
