DEBUT [NASDA]

The DEBUT (Deployable Boom & Umbrella Test) tested the deployment and retraction of a boom and an umbrella as an aerodynamic brake. Powered by batteries, it had only a short life time. DEBUT was launched on 7. Februar 1990 from Tanegashima on an H-1 (Serial: H-21) booster together with MOS 1b (Momo 1b) and JAS 1b (Fuji 1b, OSCAR 20). On orbit DEBUT was renamed Orizuru.
