![]() Hwasong-14 ICBM |
The North Korean Hwasong-14 is a liquid fueled ICBM of estimated 6000 km range.
The Hwasong-14 appears to be related to the Hwasong-12 IRBM with an added upper stage.
The missile conducted its maiden flight on 14 July 2017 from a site near Kosong, likely Panghyon Aircraft Factory, on a lofted short range trajectory of 933 km range and 2802 km apogee height, which hints to a maximum range of about 6000 km. A second flight friom Mupyong-ni on 28 July 2017 had an apogee of 3724 km and a range of 998 km, which hints to a maximum range of more than 9000 km.
