YUSAT 1 [National Taiwan Ocean University]
YUSAT 1 (Yushan Satellite 1) is a cubesat project of the National Taiwan Ocean University of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
There are two communication payloads, Automatic Identification System (AIS) receiver and Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) receiver, on YUSAT. The AIS receiver can receive AIS packets from vessels globally. YUSAT carries an AIS payload instrument for marine vessels monitoring for navigation safety and position reporting application. The APRS receiver can receive APRS messages from cars for traffic monitoring, migratory bird or animal tracking, and from ground sensor devices for large area environmental monitoring.
