Philippines Sat 1, 2 (?, Agila)

Agila [Astranis]

Agila 3 is a small geostationary Ku-band high-througput satellite (HTS) built by Astranis for Orbits Corp.

At one meter cubed and under 400 kg, the Astranis MicroGEO satellites can be built in months, not years. The 400 kg satellites will use electric propulsion to reach geostationary orbit.

The satellites are High Throughput Satellites (HTS) featuring a reconfigurable software-defined payload.

Philippines Sat 1 was contracted in 2023 with launch expected in 2025.

Philippines Sat 2 or Agila was contracted in late 2023. This to speed up delivery, the contract uses the nearly competed Andesat 1 which was delayed and will be replaced with another satellite at a later date. The contract also features an option for a second satellite to create additional capacity in the future.

Launch for Agila satellite is planned in 2024, with a second do follow later.
