RT-1 |
RT-1-1963 |
The RT-1 was the first solid fueled ICBM developed in the USSR. The all three stages consisted each of a cluster of four solid rocket motors. A number of test flights took place in 1966 but the missile did not enter service. It never received a DoD or NATO designation.
A modified version, the RT-1-1963, tested the third stage of the RT-2 missile replacing the original clustered third stage.
