Thuraya 4 [Airbus DS]
Thuraya-4 is the first next-generation replacement satellite for Yahsat's Thuraya mobile satellite telephony network
Based on the state-of-the-art all-electric Airbus Eurostar-Neo Platform, Thuraya 4-NGS will incorporate a large 12-meter L-band antenna and a payload with on-board processing providing advanced routing flexibility of up to 3200 channels with dynamic power allocation over a large number of spot beams.
Thuraya 4 is to be launched in 2024 to replace the aging Thuraya 2 satellite.
The contract also includes an option for the future Thuraya 5 to replace Thuraya 3. In February 2023 it was announced that they will execise the option within the next five years.
