Shtil 1

Shtil 1 (with main engine still attached)

On the maiden orbital launch of the Shtil-1 rocket, the third stage of the launch vehicle was equipped with intruments to measure the dynamics during the launch. The main engine of the third stage was jettisoned before the post-poost system took over. After reaching orbit, the instrumented stage became known under the name Shtil-1. From the stage, the Tubsat N and Tubsat N1 nanosatellites were deployed.
