Rubin 7-AIS

Rubin 7-AIS [OHB-System]

Rubin 7-AIS (Automatic Identification System) is a test payload for the AIS system to be used for global maritime monitoring on the second generation Orbcomm satellites.

Rubin-7-AIS consisted of three redundant units (called Rubin 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3) with fixed solar cells as attached payloads on the Kosmos-3M launch vehicle upper stage. The mission goal is to test the AIS signal receivers in orbit.
