Menut [Open Cosmos]

Menut is a 6U CubeSat earth observation satellite developed by Open Cosmos. The Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia and the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia support the project.

It is Catalonia's first Earth observation satellite, which was designed and manufactured by Open Cosmos and will be operated by the space company once launched. The satellite will be able to take images with a resolution of 5 meters of any location on the planet. Menut will prioritize image capture over Catalonia while analyzing and monitoring the impact of climate change in the region using cutting-edge AI technologies.

Menut will also be a part of the OpenConstellation project, which aims to become the world's largest shared global infrastructure of Earth observation satellites. With satellites donated by space agencies, countries, institutions, and businesses, the major challenges we face today can be adressed. Climate change, the energy crisis, sustainability, and disaster management are just a few examples.
