KN-Sat 1

KN-Sat 1 [University of Khartoum]

KN-Sat 1 is the first Sudanese satellite project. It is an educational satellite designed at the University of Khartoum complying with the 1U-CubeSat specifications.

The objectives of the satellite project are:

  • To give students at Sudanese Unversities a hands-on space project experience.
  • To document the process and skills and forward it to more students and post graduated engineers.
  • To promote space engineering and space science education at other Sudanese educational institutes.
  • Building, testing and launching the cube satellite.
  • Monitoring and tracking the cube satellite.
  • Telecommand the cube satellite.
  • Collecting the telemetry and the mission data for analysis and evaluation.
