Insat 3DR, 3DS

Insat 3DR [ISRO]

INSAT-3DR is a pure meteorological satellite without additional communication payload as in the other INSAT satellites. It is an improved successor to Insat 3D and features a 19-channel sounder, a 6-channel imager and a DRT & SAR payload.

INSAT-3DR was successfully launched in September 2016 on a GSLV Mk.2(1) rocket.

An additional ground spare, INSAT 3DS is also under construction.
