The Democratic Republic of the Congo has contracted in November 2012 with CAST to manufacture and launch a communications satellite. The satellite called CongoSat 1 will be based on the DFH-4 Bus. Launch is planned for 2018 on a CZ-3B/G2 rocket.
In May 2016, the contract was put on hold due to lack of financing.
