ISS Reshetnev and the international, Switzerland based company AOneSat Communications AG signed a contract in 2013 for the delivery of the AOneSat-1 telecommunications satellite.
The AOneSat-1 telecommunications spacecraft was to be built by ISS-Reshetnev around its middle-class Ekspress-1000N satellite platform. The communications and TV broadcasting spacecraft to cover the territory of Latin America from 49° West was expected to be launched in 2016 and carry out its mission in orbit for 15 years.
AOneSat later announced, that they are re-signing this agreement to reconfigure the satellite in order to better reflect changing price and service models. The bid is down to two suppliers, which will eventually narrow down to one. In the meantime, AOneSat is seeking to purchase an interim satellite to build revenue streams before its own satellites are positioned.
