Dolphin

Dolphin [Starstruck]

Starstruck (formerly ARC Technology, a predecessor to AMROC) developed the hybrid fueled (polybutadiene and liquid oxygen) Dolphin. It was launched from a floating launch cannister at sea. Dolphin was to serve as a low-cost commercial sounding rocket.

Only one suborbital flight was conducted. The rocket, which was to reach 2400 m failed due to a thrust vectoring problem at a height of only 700 m.

The project ran out of money, as it was backed entirely with private funds, which did not suffice for further development.
