Yaogan 30-01, 30-02, 30-03 (CX 5)

Yaogan 30-01-01 [CCTV]

The Yaogan 30-01-01 to 30-01-03 (Remote Sensing Satellite-30-01-01 to 30-01-03) satellites, were launched by CZ-2C (3) rocket from China's Xichang space center on 29 September 2017. The purpose is not confirmed, although the news reports hint towards a SIGINT mission, especially to detect ships by their radio emissions. They are also known as CX 5 by the manufacturer.

The satellites are spaced by 120 in their orbit. Reportedly, these satellites are working in cooperation with the Yaogan 30 satellite.

A second triplet, Yaogan 30-02-01 to 30-02-03, followed on 24 November 2017 into an orbital plane 119 west of the first one.

A third triplet in an orbital plane 120 east iof the first is expected to follow soon.
