Yamal 202 [Gazkom]
JSC Gascom is currently developing the Yamal communication system and is manufacturing two Yamal-200 communication satellites. The Yamal-202 satellite with C-band payload will be positioned at 49° E. It's service zone covers the most inhabited part of Russia/CIS, Europe, the Near East, South and South-East Asia. Such service zone allows arranging telecommunication "bridges" from West to East. Thus, operation of two Yamal-200 series satellites in 2003 will provide guaranteed orbital back-up for the Yamal-102 satellite, form a basis for further development of Gazprom corporate communication network, and will broaden scope and number of telecommunication services through Yamal satellite network.
