TY 4 (Xiaoxiang 4, XX 4)

Xiaoxiang 4 (XX 4), also known as TY 4 (Tianyi 4), is a commercial research nanosatellite developed by Spacety Aerospace Co. at the Changsha Gaoxinqu Tianyi Research Institute, Hunan.

The 8 kg satellite is built to the 6U CubeSat form factor.

TY 4 belongs to the aurora program and is a scientific satellite program, developed jointly by Tainyi research institute and the astrophysics center of Tsinghua university for X-ray polarization detection of the crab nebula. It detects with polarization the crab nebula and the internal pulsar by the 2-10 keV energy continuum X-ray mainly based on the photoelectric effect.
