TCStar-1 (Thaicom 9) is a high-powered geostationary satellite to be used for broadband communications applications ordered by Thaicom subsidiary International Satellite Co. Ltd. as a successor to its IPStar 1 (Thaicom 4) satellite.
the satellite will be built on CAST's DFH-4 platform. It will carry a high-throughput Ka-band payload with a throughput of 53 gigabits per second to cover a large area of East and South East Asia, including South Korea and Japan.
It was to be launched in 2019 on a Chinese CZ-3B/G2 rocket. In early 2018, the project has been put on hold.
