MYSAT 1

MYSAT 1 [Yahsat Space Lab]

MYSAT 1 is an 1U CubeSat eductional mission, developed by Yahsat Space Lab, Khalifa University and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, UAE.

MYSAT 1 is an educational mission with two main objectives:

  • Communication with the CubeSat in space, and establish a telemetry download
  • Taking photos of the UAE area using a camera as a payload and send the photos back to the ground station.

Additionally, a new Lithium–Ion battery developed and manufactured by Masdar Institute laboratories will be tested in Space.

The satellite was launched on board of the Cygnus CRS-10 cargo mission and was deployed from the spacecrafts external deployer after departing from the ISS.
