LAPAN A5 [LAPAN]

LAPAN A5 is an experimental indonesian microsatellite for Earth observation featuring an L-Band SAR. It is a joint project between the Indonesian LAPAN and Chiba University, Japan.

LAPAN will build the satellite bus. The ~ 100 kg satellite features a bus with the dimension of 60 cm × 60 cm × 80 cm.

The Earth observation payload consists of an L-Band SAR with a ground resolution of 30 meters and a swath width of 100 km. The SAR antenna measures deployed 70 cm × 450 cm. The SAR will be developed by Chiba University’s Josaphat Microwave Remote Sensing Laboratory (JMRSL) at the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing.
