Kwangmyŏngsŏng 2 (광명성 2) was the second North Korean attempt for a satellite to reach ortbit.

It reportedly carried a communication payload was to reach a 490 km × 1426 km × 40.6 orbit, but was lost in a failure of the Unha-2 launch vehicle.
