Kondor

Kondor-E 1 [NPO Mashinostroyeniya]

The Kondor is a small military radar Earth observation satellite prototype designed by NPO Mashinostroyeniya.

The Kondor satellite features a S-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which can conduct both continous swath surweys or detailed spot surveys. The swath width is 10 km. Ground resolution is 1-2 m in spotlight mode, 1-3 m in stripmap mode and 5-30 m in ScanSAR mode.

The operational version is called Kondor-E 1.

It was launched in 2013 on a Strela launch vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome.
