GROUP-C (GPS Radio Occultation and Ultraviolet Photometer on a Cubesat) was planned a 3U CubeSat to acquire ionospheric occultations and measurements of ultraviolet airglow on the Earth's disk from a small spacecraft.
The data gained from GROUP-C will be used to support improvements to the ionospheric models and predicted impacts on radio-based technology systems. A secondary objective is to provide data as a validation point for Defense Meteorological Satellite Program ionospheric data.
GROUP-C's payload consists of Space environment sensors - an Ultraviolet photometer and a GPS receiver.
Apparently GROUP-C as a CubeSat freeflyer has been cancelled and converted into an experiment hosted on the ISS attached STP-H5 payload.
