Golden Eagle 1 (GE 1) [Marquette University]
Golden Eagle 1 (GE 1) was an educational 1U CubeSat built by the Marquette University.
It was a mission to provide parctical engineering experience to students by building space hardware that would take visible-spectrum and infrared photographs of Earth and to test emerging memory technologies for use in future spaceflight missions.
The payload consisted of a thermal camera, a visible light camera and a ferroelectric RAM experiment.
Golden Eagle 1 was selected in 2014 for launch with NASA’s ELaNa program. It was planned for a launch with JPSS 1 on a Delta-7920-10C rocket in 2017, but Marquette University has withdrawn the project in 2016.
