FUNcube [AMSAT-UK / Wouter Weggelaar]
FUNcube 1 is a 1U CubeSat nanosat built by a team of volunteer radio amateurs and other specialists.
FUNcube 1 is designed to carry a single U/V linear transponder with a beacon carrying telemetry and data for educational demonstrations from space. The project includes the development of simple receivers and display software for use at schools etc. The spacecraft construction and verification was completed by April 2012.
A launch has been arranged on a Dnepr flight from Yasny in Russia scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2013. After launch, the satellite received the designations AO 73 or AMSAT-OSCAR 73.
A second set of the FUNcube 1 payload is integrated in the UKube 1 as FUNcube 2.
