BD-3 I1-S [CAS]
BD 3I (Beidou 3I) satellites are the IGSO component of the 3rd phase of the chinese Beidou (Compass) satellite navigation system, which, in contrast to GPS and GLONASS, uses both geostationary satellites and satellites in intermediate orbit.
This series provides the satellites for the inclined geostationary (IGSO) constellation called "Compass-I".
The satellites do not have an apogee propulsion system, but rely on the launch vehicle upper stage for final orbit insertion.
