The Strypi was developed as launch vehicle for the Dominic Checkmate Nuclear Test, where it launched a XW-50X1 nuclear bomb to high altitude. It consisted of a Sergeant motor boosted by two Recruits. Later the Strypi was put to use in a number of scientific programs with a variety of different upper stages.
