New Glenn

New Glenn (2 stage)
[Blue Origin]

The New Glenn is a planned partially reusable heavy lift launch system under development by Blue Origin.

Stage 1 with a diameter of 7 m will be powered by seven methane / LOX fueled BE-4 engines. The first stage is 25 times reusable by landing on a barge off the coast. The second stage, also 7 m diameter, uses two liquid hydrogen / liquid oxygen fueled vacuum opitimzed BE-3U engines. The upper stage for the three-stage version uses a single liquid hydrogen / liquid oxygen fueled BE-3U engine.

The two-stage version will stand 82.3 m tall, while the three-stage version is 94.4 m tall. The two-stage version will be able to put 45 tons into a low earth orbit and 13 tons into a geostationary transfer orbit.

Blue Origin intends to launch the rocket from Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral. Blue Origin plans the first orbital launch for the fourth quarter of 2022 from Cape Canaveral.
